Vincent F. Arrigo
Vince Arrigo passed away on Sunday February 6th, 2011. He was 81 years old.
Vince was born in Los Angeles on September 8, 1929. He attended Saint John’s Military Academy in Los Angeles where he played football and ran track. After attending Saint John’s, he enlisted in the Coast Guard at the end of World War II and was stationed in various ports up and down the West Coast of the United States. After his military service, Vince attended Claremont College where he met Carol Hopla who would become his wife of more than fifty-three years.
Vince was an avid yachtsman and member of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailboat racing as well as cruising from the Sea of Cortez to the Coast of Alaska. Vince became a yacht and ship broker in the late 1970’s and pursued his career until he retired in the San Juan Islands off the Coast of Washington.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his sons and their wives Steve and Janice Arrigo and Mike and Kristin Arrigo and five grandchildren.
A reception in Vince Arrigo’s memory will be held at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club on February 16th at 3:00 PM. Friends and Family will be in attendance.
