Authorities release crash victims’ names
The Orange County coroner’s office has released the names of the three victims from Sunday night’s plane crash.
Chuck Chambers, 58, a Palos Verdes real estate broker who owned the plane, Russell Urban, 63, and Sean Kelley, 44, were killed in the single-engine plane that crashed into the Back Bay.
Chambers, according to his website www.chuckchambers.com, is survived by his wife, Leslie, and their daughter, Tracy, a Chapman University student.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are working with the plane’s insurance company to extricate the 1968 Beechcraft Muskateer from the mud, according to Newport Beach Fire Division Chief Paul Matheis.
They have not yet determined when they will remove it.
Also, the U.S. Coast Guard is working to control any contaminants that may have been released into the water.
