Carol A Mason January 30, 1940 - October 23, 2014

Carol Mason, 74, of Costa Mesa, CA, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, at her home.

Carol Ann Reece was born January 30, 1940 in Portsmouth, NH, the daughter of Daniel and Lauretta (McGrail) Reece. Following graduation from Tyler, TX High School, she graduated from N. TX State Univ with a teaching certificate. She taught elementary school for a few years in CO and CA during which time she met Barry V. Mason.They were married at Balboa Island, CA on July 11, 1964.

Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, her cats, gardening and quilting. She was a member of the Back Bay Quilting Club. She also enjoyed getting together with quilting friends, who called themselves the “Quilt & Gab” Group. She was also a member of the Balboa Yacht Club and had served on the clubs gardening committee.

Surviving her, are her husband, Barry; daughter, Heidi Henkemeyer of Algonquin, IL and son John Marshall Mason and his wife Keista, of Riverside, CA.; grandsons, Adam and Collin Henkemeyer; Reece and Branden Mason; Sisters, Dixie Heins of Riverside, CA., and Gayle Reece of Tyler, TX.; Also surviving her, are her beloved cats, Frankie and Johnny.
