William C. Kuhn

William Crook Kuhn, age 92, of Costa Mesa, CA went to be with our Lord on February 8, 2011. He was born in the upstairs bedroom of his parent’s home in Morrisville, PA where he resided until attending a Quaker Prep School called George School, in Newtown, PA. James A. Michener was his history and English instructor and instilled his love for reading, history, adventure and travel.

Bill attended Bates College in Lewiston, ME, but having flown since the age of 17, he joined the Navy in 1942 as a dive bomber flight instructor on aircraft carriers.

Bill celebrated life being married to his wife Jean for 63 years and raised two successful children. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was dedicated to his church and choir, and had a very fulfilling 31 year career of selling steel wire rope and cable used on ski lifts, dams, mining, bridges, elevators, maritime work and even Disneyland. He is survived by his daughter Heather K. Somers of Costa Mesa, her children, Scott, (Karissa), Greg and Laurel Somers and by his son William C. Kuhn of Erie, Colorado.
Services are to be held at 2:00 on Friday, Feb 25, 2011 at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Costa Mesa.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
