Members of the Orange County Employees Assn., which represents Costa Mesa municipal workers, recently traveled to the state Capitol in Sacramento to participate in Gov. Jerry Brown’s inauguration.

On Monday, the workers brought their wagon and served 4,200 hot dogs to more than 2,000 attendees at the public event, which celebrated Brown’s historic fourth term in office.

“During his last inauguration, Gov. Brown came out and shared a hot dog with the people he represents, right in the middle of the crowd,” OCEA General Manager Nick Berardino, who also serves on the Orange County Fair Board, said in a statement. “It’s inspiring that he stands with all the people — especially all of us in the cheap seats.”
