Inventors test their creations during ‘Astounding Inventions’ competition at Irvine Valley College

More than 450 young inventors in kindergarten through eighth grade put their creations to the test Saturday in the 28th annual “Astounding Inventions” competition at Irvine Valley College.

The children were chosen to compete for awards and more than $10,000 in cash prizes from among 4,000 students in the Irvine and Tustin school districts who submitted inventions.

More than 60 representatives of the scientific, education, civic and business communities judged the contest.
