Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Ed Fawcett
The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce is hosting a retirement luncheon next week for its former president and CEO, Ed Fawcett.
The event is being held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 29 at the Mesa Verde Country Club, 3000 Clubhouse Road, Costa Mesa.
Fawcett, 66, led the chamber for 23 years before stepping down Dec. 31. He is being replaced by Kyle Woosley but is being retained for the next few months as a consultant.
Before joining the chamber, Fawcett worked in the city’s hospitality industry.
“For the last 40 years, Costa Mesa has had my heart,” Fawcett told the Daily Pilot in an interview in January. “It really has. I’ve chosen to be here because I enjoy the town. I enjoy the mix of people and the flavor of the town, more than any other town, really.”
Chamber board Chairwoman Jennifer Farrell said in a statement: “Ed’s tenure with the chamber was a journey of perseverance. Through economic downturns and upturns, he proudly worked with businesses and schools to improve our local community.”
