Dozens of iPads stolen from Harbor View
About 39 iPads were stolen from two Harbor View Elementary School classrooms over the weekend, Newport Beach authorities said.
School officials reported at 7:22 a.m. Monday that windows to both classrooms had been smashed and that $15,600 worth of iPads were missing from their charging stations, said Newport Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella.
The tablets had been placed out of sight in both classrooms, Manzella said.
Harbor View Dads, a fundraising group, bought the iPads in 2012, according to the school website.
Newport Beach investigators were at the school Monday morning, Manzella said.
School officials had not yet responded to a request for comment as of Monday afternoon.
