A teenager is suspected in a hit-and-run accident near Estancia High School that damaged a light pole, Costa Mesa police said Monday.

About 3 a.m. Saturday, a girl — whose age and city of residence were not immediately available — was driving a Toyota Tundra pickup truck along Placentia Avenue when she crashed into a light pole, said police Lt. Mark Manley.

She then fled on foot, police said. On Saturday evening, the girl’s parents contacted police to inform them that their daughter was at Hoag Hospital receiving treatment for injuries related to the incident, Manley said.

City crews are expected to begin repair work on the light pole.

The crash is under investigation, and no arrests have been made, Manley said.

Alcohol did not appear to play a role in the accident.
