Costa Mesa Army base reservists to be honored Sunday

Reservist soldiers from Costa Mesa’s U.S. Army base will be receiving a ceremony for their families and supporters Sunday that honors their service abroad.

The event for a support unit from the 311th Signal Command begins around 10:30 a.m. The ceremony is at the unit’s base, 2651 Newport Blvd.

The soldiers were deployed for the last year in Afghanistan and Kuwait. They provided network security and other network maintenance services for military personnel.
