Small pipe bomb explodes outside Costa Mesa home
A small home-made bomb exploded outside the front door of a mobile home in Costa Mesa early Tuesday, according to police.
Officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. to the Trade Winds Mobile Home Park at 2191 Harbor Blvd. after an explosion was reported, Costa Mesa police spokesman Lt. Greg Scott said.
They found a small pipe bomb outside of one of the homes and called in the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad to take care of the remnants, according to police.
Nobody was hurt by the small blast and no possible suspects were seen, Scott said.
Officials declined to release further details.
Police have asked that anyone with information about the incident call Costa Mesa detectives at (714) 754-5637.
