Lincoln Elementary principal retiring
Lincoln Elementary School’s principal is set to retire in August, the Newport-Mesa Unified School District announced Wednesday.
Principal Jane Holm’s retirement from the Newport Beach school will create the fourth principal opening that the district is working to fill.
Holm is leaving after 13 years with the district, according to a news release from Newport-Mesa.
“It was a very difficult decision for me because it has been such a delight to work with our Lincoln children over the years,” Holm wrote in a letter to parents, staff and students. “Watching our Lincoln kids grow and learn has been a very rewarding experience.”
The district announced that it will start a recruitment process that will include parent and staff input.
Officials hope to have a new principal in place by the beginning of the school year but plan to appoint an interim principal during August to prepare for the start of classes, according to the news release.
The district is also looking for principals to lead TeWinkle Middle School, Corona del Mar High School and Newport Harbor High School.
