Rappellers go over the edge at Irvine Marriott to benefit Scouts

If you were driving past the Irvine Marriott hotel on Friday and saw people sliding down the side of it on ropes, it wasn’t a SWAT team or an episode of “Survivor.”

The first Over the Edge experience in Orange County offered the chance for up to 80 participants to rappel down the face of the 17-story hotel to benefit the Orange County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Rappellers were asked to raise $1,000 each through an online page.
