Work on MacArthur expected to affect traffic
Part of MacArthur Boulevard in Newport Beach will be closed to traffic during the weekdays from Monday through the remainder of the month.
The northbound portion of the boulevard will be closed between East Coast Highway and San Miguel Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to a city news release. One lane will reopen for traffic outside of those times, although workers may still be present.
Drivers should expect delays near Newport Center and along East Coast Highway in Corona del Mar and alternate routes like Avocado Avenue, the release said.
The city is installing a new water pipeline and relocating a utility vault under the road. The city plans for a portion of the road to reopen Nov. 1, but additional days may occur.
Southbound lanes on MacArthur Boulevard will remain open.
