Fire stations accepting toys for kids in need
Costa Mesa fire stations are accepting donations for firefighters’ 21st annual Spark of Love toy drive for kids in need, the city announced Friday.
Residents can drop off new and unwrapped toys, sports equipment or gift cards.
The donations will go to the Orange County Toy Collaborative, which includes Spark of Love, the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots, Social Services Agency’s Operation Santa Claus and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Holiday Charities.
The organizations join each year to collect about 300,000 toys for youngsters who may not receive anything else.
Costa Mesa’s fire stations are at 2803 Royal Palm Drive, 800 Baker St., 1865 Park Ave., 2300 Placentia Ave. and 2450 Vanguard Way.
