Huntington Beach honors war dead with 114th Memorial Day ceremony

City leaders and other community members gathered at Huntington Beach Pier Plaza on Monday to remember those who lost their lives in wars.

The 114th Huntington Beach Memorial Day tribute featured a 21-gun salute, a flag raising, the playing of taps and a performance by the Huntington Beach High School band. It also included a speech by Cmdr. John Quillinan of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station.

The ceremony was presented by American Legion Post 133.
