Holi festival makes for a colorful day at Bolsa Chica State Beach

A celebration of the Hindu spring festival Holi passed with flying colors Sunday at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach.

Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, was the occasion for a public fundraising event presented by Child Rights and You Orange County, featuring Bollywood music, Indian food and revelers covering themselves and others with bright colors made of cornstarch and food coloring.

Proceeds will go to Child Rights and You America, a nonprofit that promotes education, healthcare and protection from exploitation and abuse for underprivileged children.
