Las Vegas man convicted of sexually assaulting girls in Huntington Beach

A Las Vegas man was convicted Wednesday of sexually assaulting four girls over a decade in Huntington Beach.

Martin Rodriguez Garcia, 51, assaulted the girls, to whom he was related, between November 1994 and July 2004, according to court records.

He could face a sentence of 214 years in state prison on charges of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years old, lewd acts on a 14- or 15-year-old, lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, aggravated sexual assault on a child, aggravated sexual assault on a child with a foreign object and sodomy of a child.

The construction worker is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 15 in Orange County Superior Court. He is in custody at Orange County Jail in Santa Ana.

Garcia was arrested in May 2016 in Las Vegas through a joint effort of the Huntington Beach and Las Vegas police departments, authorities said.
