James Pancake, a 47-year resident of Costa Mesa, CA, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2011. He was 80. Jim was a native of Springfield, OH, a graduate of University of Cincinnati, and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Pancake, his children, Jennifer Pancake Fay (Jonathan) of Sierra Madre, CA, Douglas Pancake (Meghan) of Orange, CA, and Robert Pancake (Genie) of Denver, CO, and his five beloved granddaughters, Sarah and Eleanor Fay and Alice, Emma, and Clara Pancake. Jim was a devoted father and grandfather and was an avid tennis player, history buff, and world traveler. He climbed the Matterhorn and competed in the Senior Olympics in tennis, but one of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
