Richard J.Wood died January 13, 2014, in Costa Mesa, CA.

Born in Riverside, CA January 29, 1919. Graduated Riverside Polytechnic High School. Attended Riverside College. Graduated San Jose State College June 1941. Served in the Army in WWII 1941-1945. Married Florence Tweddle in June 1947 in Riverside. Dick was a sales tax auditor for Calif. for over 30 years. He retired in Costa Mesa in 1981 where he and Florence enjoyed golf and traveling, and fellowship with friends at First United Methodist Church.

Dick was predeceased by Florence November 2005. Survived by son Bruce and wife Becky Wood of Austin, TX. Daughter Janet and husband Ken Hamilton of Poway, CA. Granddaughter Karen Hamilton and husband Larry Lawson of Escondido, CA. Grandson Eric and wife Julie Wood of Georgetown, TX. Great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Timothy Wood. Niece Martha and husband Jim Schaffer of Monterey, CA.

Service was held January 20 at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive. Dick’s love of sports, the beach, and cake and ice cream will be fondly remembered by family and dear friends.
