Joyce Wyatt
Joyce, a native Californian born in Pomona 9/29/1931, to Edwin and Mae Masturzo. Diagnosed in 2005 with Alzheimer’s she fought a great battle but finally lost to the unforgiving, debilitating disease 4/15/2012.
She grew up in Camarillo and graduated from Oxnard HS in 1949. While attending Ventura JC she met her husband Bob and they were married in 1951. They have lived in Costa Mesa since 1961. She loved her sports and played tennis with a great group of “ladies” even after diagnosis. She supported her sons in all their athletic endeavors and there wasn’t a ride she wouldn’t go on! She was the heart and glue of her family.
She retired from the State in 1990, her last position being that of Bookstore Manager at OCC.
She is survived by her husband Bob, sons Steve and wife Nancy, Jerry, Rob and wife Julie, grandchildren Jacqui, Maegan, James, Haley, Emma, Sean and great grandson Colton. Also survived by brother Don and his wife Delores.
God bless all who have or are caring for one who has this unforgiving disease. You find the true meaning of love when you are the privileged one giving back for all the things they did for you.
Memorial Services will be held at the Harbor Lawn Mortuary, Costa Mesa, Sunday April 22 at 11:00.
