Survey isn’t in the mail, but newsletter is

FOUNTAIN VALLEY -- Many La Colonia Juarez residents are still
waiting for a city survey to arrive, but they’ll soon be getting
something else in their mailboxes: a city newsletter.
The newsletter, Neighborhoods News, will explain recent changes in the
Neighborhood Improvement and Community Enhancement Program, including the
delay of the mural survey and the cleanup, the city’s Housing Coordinator
Chris Corbin said Tuesday.
The cleanup has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 28, he said. Volunteers
and trash bins be on hand to help residents clean up their property.
As for the survey, Corbin said the city may hire a third party to conduct
it.
“Given the feeling of distrust among some of the residents, we thought it
would be better to take ourselves out of the loop,” Corbin said.
The city will meet with Cal State Fullerton officials to discuss the
possibility of surveying residents on six streets to decide whether the
neighborhood’s mural should be restored or painted over.
