Residents may experience sediment in their water or reduced pressure

Monday and Tuesday as the Mesa Consolidated Water District tests fire

hydrants, Mesa officials said.

The flow tests are part of the maintenance for the district’s master-plan

update. A temporary pressure drop may occur near the testing sites.

The tests also may stir up sediment in the piping that may look like

dirty water. The water is not harmful and will clear up quickly, said

Karl Kemp, general manager.

If residents notice discoloration, turn off the faucet, wait 15-20

minutes and try again.

The best way to check for sediment is from your outdoor faucet. Let the

water run for a couple of minutes, take a glass of water from the faucet

and see if it clear. If the water is clear, it’s fine to drink. If

there’s sediment, wait ten minutes and test again.

Mesa will test at the following sites:

-Irvine Avenue between 17th and 18th streets

-Placentia Avenue between 16th and 17th streets

-Pacific Avenue between Victoria and Wilson streets

-Intersection of Mesa Verde Drive and Baker Street

-Village Way east of Harbor Boulevard

-Lorenzo Avenue between Presidio and El Camino drives

-Anton Boulevard between Sunflower Avenue and Sakioka Drive

-Airway Avenue between McCormick Avenue and Airport Loop
