WEST NEWPORT -- Police responded yet again to the home of former

NBA superstar Dennis Rodman early Friday morning, arresting a man on

battery charges who claimed to be the “Worm’s” assistant manager.

Thayer Ghazi Mustafa, 37, was booked on one count of battery and was

released on $500 bail.

Police have responded to Rodman’s home on the 4800 block of Seashore

Drive eight times this year and a total of 22 since last July. The latest

incident, however, didn’t involve the former power forward.

At about 3 a.m., police were called to Rodman’s home, where they found

22-year-old Scott Francis, who claimed he was punched in the face by

Mustafa. According to police, Francis had a black eye and complained that

Mustafa had slugged him during a confrontation during a party at Rodman’s

home.

Apparently, Francis was trying to crash the party and when Mustafa asked

for his identification, Francis refused, police said. A scuffle ensued

and Francis claims he was struck in the face by Mustafa.

Rodman reportedly saw the fracas and asked both men to leave his home.

Francis was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness.

“People have gotten out of hand before at his parties and Rodman has

thrown them out,” said Sgt. Mike McDermott. “Mustafa claims the other guy

was going to hit him so he protected himself.”

Rodman was arrested last weekend at Woody’s Wharf on a charge of public

drunkenness.

Following that arrest, police earlier this week said Rodman’s house has

been frequented regularly by patrol officers.

Rodman has amassed thousands of dollars in fines, but has paid all of

them promptly, authorities added.
