MILLENNIUM MOMENT

Holly Lash Visel, a Balboa Island voice teacher, coaxed beautiful

music out of her students for more than 60 years, sharing her own

experience in drama and song.

Visel moved to Santa Ana at the age of 15, graduated from the Cumnock

School of Expression in Los Angeles and sang professionally all over

Southern California. In her subsequent teaching career, she worked with

people aged 3 to 73, finding talent in even the unlikeliest candidates.

Discovering a singer’s musical prowess, Visel said, was like digging

for diamonds. It was only a matter of searching long enough to find the

treasure.
