Sailors on a roll

COSTA MESA - Newport Harbor High sophomore Kelly Hunt fired a

5-over par 41 for nine holes at Santa Ana Country Club Tuesday to lead

the Sailors to a nine-stroke lead over Los Alamitos in the first half of

their nonleague 18-hole match with the Griffins.

Hunt birdied the 141-yard No. 7, as well as the 409-yard No. 2, en

route to her best round of the current season. Backing her up were

Brianna Reehl (48) and Lindsay Galbraith (56). Also, with nonscoring

efforts for Harbor were Emily McKay (49) and Shelly Rob erts (56).

The match will conclude on Thursday at Yorba Linda CC.
