Women’s guide to football class offered

NEWPORT BEACH - The City of Newport Beach Community Services

Department is offering a class designed to help women understand the game

of football.

The course, entitled, “Women’s Introduction to Football,” begins

tonight from 7-9 at the Oasis Senior Center in Corona del Mar.

Registration fee is $35 and those interested are to register at

Newport Beach City Hall before class begins.

The course is designed to teach women, who are mothers trying to

understand their kids’ games or wives or girlfriends who are trying to

watch games with their boyfriends or husbands, the basics of football.

Dorothy Spirus, a former editor of California Football magazine is the

instructor of the class.
