Dolphins earn shutout win
The Huntington Beach Junior Pee Wee Division Dolphins bounced back
in a big way from a season opening defeat to shut down the South Gate
Rams, 12-0, in Junior All-American Football action Saturday at Ocean View
High.
Logan Martina paced the Dolphin rushing attack with with 54 total
yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
Martina’s scoring run was the only significant drive mustered by
the Dolphins, whose other touchdown came on a 43-yard interception return
by Brian Shrock.
The Dolphins rebounded nicely from a season opening 27-6 loss at
Bellflower on Sept. 11. In that game, Martina threw a second quarter
touchdown pass to Nate Borden to send the teams into the locker room tied
at 6-6 at the half.
Willie Fiscus led the Huntington Beach defense in the loss with 10
tackles.
The Dolphins return to action Saturday, hosting the Mission Viejo
Cowboys in a 1 p.m. kickoff at Ocean View High.
