My favorite furniture and home accessories store, Les InTerieurs,

located at Westcliff Court in Newport Beach, has opened a second location

in San Juan Capistrano.

Dan Marty, owner of the Urban Gardener and Les InTerieurs, has opened

Les InTerieurs, South, at (949) 489-0505, which features a combination of

home furnishings, accents, as well as interior plants and decorative

accessories.

Les InTerieurs, South successfully combines the new with the old, the

classic with the most current trend in a most creative and livable way.

It’s located inside the gates of the charming Decorative Arts Villa at

(949) 488-9600, a must-see for all collectors of fine 17th to 19th

century European antiques, decorative accessories, and the occasional,

immortal objet d’art.

The Decorative Art Villa also houses Capistrano Charitable Foundation,

which hosts the annual Capistrano Antiques & Garden Show in June with

more than 60 fine antiques dealers invited from around the country in

attendance. Some of the beneficiaries include the Susan G. Komen Breast

Cancer Foundation, Canine Companions for Independence, and Boys & Girls

Club of Capistrano Valley. The Decorative Arts Villa and Les InTerieurs,

South is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located

at 31431 Camino Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano, two blocks north of

the San Juan Capistrano Mission.

A little known fact about Roger’s Gardens is that it has an Institute

of the Gardens program where a horticulturist, Cristin Fusano, offers

four-week gardening classes. Coming in October, there will be a four-week

Intermediate Gardening class offered Wednesdays.

It will run from from 9 to 11 a.m., Oct. 13 to Nov. 3. The class will

teach how to select and care for specific plants for different garden

areas. It will take into consideration the existing hardscape as well as

your home’s architectural features. The prerequisite for this class is

beginning gardening. On Thursdays, beginning Oct. 14 and running through

Nov. 4, there will be a cottage garden design class offered from 9 to 11

a.m. This class will instruct how to incorporate cottage garden vignettes

into sunny gardens, no matter how large or how small.

Each class builds on the previous session, tying new designs to past

ones for a unified whole. The prerequisite for this class is also

beginning gardening. Each series of four classes is $125 with all

materials included in the fee. Roger’s Gardens, at (949) 640-5800, is

located at 2301 San Joaquin Hills Road in Corona del Mar.
