Soccer: Rush III remains unbeaten
The Orange Coast United Rush III, girls-under-15 soccer team
remained unbeaten after defeating Tustin United, 4-0, Saturday and West
Coast Breakers, 2-1, on Sunday at Currie Middle School in Tustin.
In Saturday’s win over Tustin, goals were scored by Kate Younglove,
Sabrina Couch, Megan Curry and Susan Minzter.
Tricia Doran and Allison Apadaca scored for the OCU Rush III in
Sunday’s win over the West Coast Breakers at Estancia High.
The OCU Rush III is in first place and undefeated at 4-0 for the
season.
In other OCU action:
The OCU Sting, a boys-under-17 team, also played two tough matches
this past weekend.
On Saturday, Brian Henry scored a second-half goal from a Charlie
Thompson assist in a 2-1 loss.
In Sunday’s game against Pasadena, Brian Walton scored on a penalty
kick, while the Sting’s defense, led by Ryan Denman, David Jenkins, Kevin
Yoches, Scott Nickerson and Sam Coons played well in the second half.
