Special Olympics Sports Classic I coming

More than 800 Special Olympic athletes and Unified Sports Partners

from the Southern California area will participate in the 1999 Sports

Classic I, an event that is part of the Southern California Special

Olympics Championships. The event is a culmination of chapter competition

in two sports - softball and team bowling. The softball tournament will

be held at the Fountain Valley Recreational Center, and the team bowling

competition will be held at Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley. The Special

Olympics also is looking for volunteers who can make a two-day

commitment. Those interested in volunteering their time to a worthy cause

The North Huntington Beach chapter of National Junior Basketball (NJB)

will hold tryouts for its divisional teams this Saturday, Oct. 2, from

noon-2 p.m. at the Marina High gymnasium. The tryout session is open to

players grades 3-8. Also, NHB NJB will hold tryouts for its clinic teams.
