The North Huntington Beach Black boys Under-10 soccer team extended

their Coast Soccer League-leading record to 4-0 last weekend following a

pair of road victories.

First up was a 3-1 triumph Saturday over San Clemente United at

Estancia High in Costa Mesa.

San Clemente enjoyed a short-lived 1-0 lead on a corner kick

score, but moments later, Esteban Orejel scored on a penalty kick to tie

the match, which stood deadlocked, 1-1, at the half.

NHB used an aggressive defense and an attacking offense in the

second half to take control of the match, with goals by both Abraham

Villon and Bobby Tornel giving the Black their margin of victory.

On Sunday, NHB dominated Canyon Classic, 8-2, at Yorba Middle

School in Orange. Bobby Tornel paced the victory with three goals and an

assist, and Christian Rameriz contributed two goals and an assist.

Villon, Tony Bichai, and Kody Suryan scored the other three goals,

and Orejel (two), Ryan Lehane, and Matt Wood also recorded assists.

‘Our defense never let up and applied constant pressure to limit

our opponents to very few scoring opportunities,’ NHB Coach Alberto

Robiatti said. ‘I also attribute our fine performances to a well-balanced

offensive attack, which had consistent passing and aggressiveness.’

NHB opened league play (Silver South Division) with identical 3-0

victories over both the West Covina Express and the Chino Hills

Nitemares. Prior to that, NHB, a first-year team, won the Long Beach

International Sun and Surf Tournament, and was a semifinalist at the JUSA

Kick-Off Classic.

The two weekend victories put NHB Black at 12-2 overall.
