Women’s water polo: Pirates upend San Diego Mesa

COSTA MESA - Jennifer Stipp scored three second-quarter goals for

the Pirates in Wednesday’s 10-6 win over visiting San Diego Mesa in

nonconference women’s water polo.

After falling behind, 2-1, to Mesa (3-5), OCC scored nine of the next

11 goals to put the game away.

Laura Blair and Nerissa Reidenbaugh each added two goals apiece for

the Pirates (9-2), while goalie Erin Kennedy made nine saves.

OCC opens Orange Empire Conference play when Saddleback arrives
