Jr. Pee Wee Black Jaguars remain perfect

The Fountain Valley Jr. Pee Wee Black Jaguars defense has yet to

allow a point this season.

The Tustin Cobras became shutout victim No. 4 Saturday as Fountain

Valley rolled to a 40-0 victory in Jr. All-American Football play.

The Black Jaguar defense, spearheaded by Travis McNaughton, Eric

Ceja, and Michael Berber and aided by the play of Ryan Valencia, Kevin

Loyola, and Martin Duran, dominated the Cobras from the opening kickoff.

Fountain Valley’s explosive offense rolled over Tustin with a

ground attack that rolled up 306 yards on only 26 carries, highlighted by

a spectacular 30-yard double pass play from Bryan Schutte to Freddie

Estrada, who dove into the end zone for one score.

Josh Perez provided a two-point conversion kick, and the front

line blocking of Max Rudzwick, J.D. Farmer, and Trevor Clarke paved the

way for a Jaguar backfield consisting of Jeff Hennes, Jonathan Loyola,

and Joshua Gutierrez.

The Jr. Pee Wee Black Jaguars travel to Irvine Saturday to take on

the host Chargers.

JR. CLINIC DIVISION

Fountain Valley 25, Orange 6

Andy Palacios recorded a team-high eight tackles, two sacks, and

caused three fumbles with one recovery, as the Jaguars stunned the

Chiefs.

Fountain Valley’s defense held Orange to 49 total yards. Both

Scott Wurtzbacher and Moses Hershberger each had a fumble recovery, and

Cody Grant notched a quarterback sack. Offensively, the Jaguars

controlled the game with a 223 yard rushing attack that featured four

touchdowns and scores by Chris Martinez, Danny Dion, and Dylon Conley -

each of which were set up by the power running of Anders Torgenson.

PEE WEE DIVISION

Fountain Valley 38, Westminster 0

The all-around play of Chris Le, who recovered an onside kick and

a fumble, intercepted a pass, and had one quarterback sack, sparked the

Jaguars’ victory over the host Lions at Westminster High.

Starting quarterback Jimmy Leeman rushed for three touchdowns and

also connected with Daniel Rodriguez on a 50-yard scoring play. Ahmed

Abdelmuti topped the 100-yards rushing mark , scored one touchdown, and

set up Leeman’s rushing TDs.

Leeman also was good on 4 of 5 extra point attempts, with center

Shane Webber and holder Wayne Glisson setting up each kick attempt.

The Jaguar offensive line received strong play from Doug Sorrell,

Peter Hernandez, Sean Atchison, RJ Orozco, and Jeff Sett.

Zac Curtner, Tim Hyde, and Brennan Boano paced the shutout on

defense.

Fountain Valley meets rival Huntington Beach Saturday (1 p.m.) at

Ocean View High.

CLINIC DIVISION

Fountain Valley 12, Garden Grove 7

Led by the play of Nathan Feiler, Matt Empting, Steven Bennett,

Jose Navarro, Jacob Gale, Nick McIsaac, Mike Delicce, Nick Sosa, Matt

James, Zack Cardenalli, and Victor Amey, Fountain Valley’s defense

limited the host Panthers to 65 yards of offense.

McIsaac, despite playing with the flu, connected with Shane Murray

on a 65-yard touchdown pass and also ran back a kickoff 70 yards for

another score.

The Clinic Jaguars, now 2-2, host the Huntington Beach Dolphins

Saturday at Fountain Valley High.

JR. MIDGET DIVISION

Fountain Valley 32, Huntington Beach 2

Quarterback Kyle Feiler threw for two touchdowns - one a 45-yard

pass to Doug DeLong, the other a 30-yarder to Bob Silva, and Silva rushed

for two more scores - one on a 45-yard run - to lift the Jaguars.

Bryan Reihm finished off the Jaguars scoring in the fourth quarter

with a 40-yard run up the middle.

Fountain Valley’s defense, which hasn’t yielded a point in 15

consecutive quarters and has given up just six points in four games, was

led by nose guard Joey Vasquez, tackles Scott Grant and David Patterson,

ends Michael Musso and Jeff Millard, corners Feiler and Ross Morrow, and

DeLong at safety.

JR. PEE WEE DIVISION

Mission Viejo 7, Fountain Valley 0

In a tight defensive battle, the Cowboys scored on a one-yard run

with 25 seconds remaining to squeeze past the Teal Jaguars. Fountain

Valley highlights included a Josh Pineiro recovery of a fumble that was

set up by Jaguars Dean Persinger, Taylor Grosso, and Sean Tierney, and

Vince DiDomenico led the rushing attack with 65 yards and five first

downs.

Fountain Valley takes on the Garden Grove Panthers Saturday (11

a.m.) at Rancho Alamitos High.
