NMJAAF: Midget Seahawks blow out Irvine, 45-0

NEWPORT BEACH - The Newport-Mesa Junior All-American Football

Midget Seahawks had a field day with the Irvine Chargers en route to a

45-0 win Saturday.

Matt Encinias scored three touchdowns, including a 95-yard sweep and

Brian Campos scored two touchdowns for the Seahawks.

Jun Azurin had a 60-yard touchdown run, while J.R. Crosby caught a

5-yard pass for a two-point conversion.

Offensive linemen Eric Curtis, Cole Edwards, Luis Gudino and R.J.

Martin led the charge for the offense.

Zach Wisengrad had a quarterback sack to lead the defense, while

fellow defenders Bo Burgess, Tim McCullough, Michael Puentes, Chris

Channing, Luis Gonzalez, Chris Wade, Sylvester Langrine, Sam Matlin,

Travis Winrow and Brian Wase kept the shutout in tact.

In other NMJAAF action:

Clinic-level Seahawks 0, Irvine Chargers 0 - Robbie Lusk and Jacob

Gildart broke through on several long runs, but were stopped shy of the

goal line.

Lusk led the defensive shutout, along with Michael Jugan, Griffin

Taylor, Woody Yokayama, Frankie Russo, Kevin Morgenstern and Travis

Sorensen.

Irvine Chargers 28, Jr. Midget Seahawks 8 - Kevin Artz scored on a

long touchdown pass from quarterback Mike Angelo for the Seahawks’ lone

touchdown.

Tyler Lance, Austin Brawner and Spencer Link played well on offense,

while Sean Ellis, Trevor Theriot and Kasey Peters played hard on defense.

Irvine Chargers 26, Pee Wee Seahawks 0 - Despite the loss, quarterback

Ryan Lance threw several completions to Matt Silva.

Three offensive linemen, Eric Ray, Brent Ogden and Shaun Mohler played

a majority of the game, while the defense was led by Jordan Taormina,

David Yi, James Coder, David Del Fonte and Patrick Williams.

For the Junior Pee Wee Seahawks, in Monday’s game against the Mission

Viejo Cowboys, Matt Hauser scored on an 85-yard interception for the

second week in a row.

P.J. Banning also scored a touchdown and provided a key block later in

the game.

The defense was led by Ryan Telles, John Angelo, Tony Jones, Chaz

Vickery, Mike Orozco, Conner Ferguson, Jack Turner, Noor Nalm and Kyle

Hayhoe.

Quarterbacks Jake Wuebben and Hauser directed the offense while the

offensive line of Telles, Banning, John Gothard, Bryce Jardine, Richie

Sorenson, Brian Lawler, Zack lavengood, Scott Andrews, Zack Sepulveda,

Lou Truxton, Alex Buffalini, Ryan Dupla and Cavan McCarthy opened holes

for running backs Alex Warnock, Angelo and Orozco.
