Killybrooke holds International Night

Killybrooke Elementary School hosted an International Night on

Wednesday. The idea of the evening’s festivities, which included food and

drink from various cultures, was for parents and students to get to know

each other, and each others’ cultures, in an informal and enjoyable way.

Estancia High hits the silver screen

Like Costa Mesa High School before it, Estancia High School will be

making a debut on the silver screen. Starting as soon as today, students

at Estancia will be using Costa Mesa’s television studio to produce

programs about their school.

Corona del Mar High plans annual home tour

Corona del Mar High School is gearing up for its 26th annual home tour.

The tour, which is expected to sell out, is a major fund-raiser for the

school’s PTA. Six homes in Corona del Mar and Newport Beach, including

Newport Coast, old Corona del Mar, Big Canyon, Balboa Island and Harbor

View will be shown, as well as a cottage in old Corona del Mar. Lunch

will be served by Pascal’s Cafe Jardin at the Sherman Library and Gardens

in Corona del Mar. The cost is $45, which includes lunch, a raffle

ticket, and, of course, the tour. For more information, call

Entrepreneur to visit Costa Mesa High

Donald Herman, the president and executive director of Southern

California Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative, will be speaking at Costa

Mesa High School on Monday. For the past four years, Herman, owner of

Taste Budgz Candy, has visited every high school in Orange County to

encourage teens to turn their hobbies into small businesses. Herman

offers students in entrepreneurship up to $1,000 in start-up funds for

students interested in and is currently raising $1 million to support

entrepreneurship education in Orange County.
