Men’s water polo: Orange Coast outlasts Rio Hondo

WHITTIER - Orange Coast College overcame a first-half surge by host

Rio Hondo to pull out a 14-6 win Thursday in nonconference men’s water

polo action.

After the two teams fought to a 5-5 tie at the half, the Pirates

(10-3) outscored Rio Hondo, 9-1, in the second half for the win.

Jeff Pratt and Kevin Becker each scored three times, while Steve

Dugger and Scott Butler added two goals apiece for the Pirates, who will

participate in the Citrus Tournament this weekend.
