Mustangs wins second league match

COSTA MESA - Costa Mesa High’s girls tennis team continued it’s

rapid improvement with a dramatic 4-2 victory in a tiebreaker against

Northwood in a Pacific Coast League match Thursday.

Both teams were tied 9-9 in matches and 72-72 in games after regulation

play. Misa Doan pulled out a gutsy win in her tiebreaker match for the

extra point.

No. 1 singles player Hillary Havens won three of four matches, including

the tiebreaker. The doubles team won six out of nine matches in the

Mustangs’ winning effort.

Costa Mesa is now 6-7, 2-1. The Mustangs are at Laguna Beach on

6-1, def. K. McNeil-Yvette 6-0; S. Kim-J. Lee (CM) won 6-0, lost 4-6, won

6-1; Soria-Yenny won 7-5, lost 2-6, 3-6.
