MILLENNIUM MOMENT

When the lights go down and the movie starts, Andrew Youngquist feels

right at home. The Newport Beach resident, president of Costa Mesa’s

Birtcher Construction Services, is an expert on movie theater

construction and the retrofitting of stadium seats.

Youngquist graduated from OCC and went on to work on his first stadium

seating project with AMC theaters in 1984. Locals will soon have a chance

to experience his latest handiwork: Youngquist is coordinating the

ongoing renovation of the Balboa Theater.
