OBITUARY

Morris Molho, or “Morri” as he was known by his friends, died Monday. He

was 84.

“He really loved life and people,” said his son, Allan Molho. “Life was

his thing.”

Mr. Molho was born in New York City and moved to California as a young

boy when his family took residence in Pasadena.

Immediately after serving in World War II and wanting to live near the

ocean, he eventually settled in Newport Beach, where he opened a flower

shop on the Balboa Peninsula.

Over the years he became a renowned floral designer, winning numerous

floral design awards nationwide.

Mr. Molho accepted invitations to design flower arrangements throughout

the United States, as well as in Europe and Japan. He finished second in

the America’s Cup of Floral Design, which is considered to be the

ultimate competition in the field.

His flower shop, “Flowers by Morri,” still exists today in Costa Mesa and

is still owned and operated by his family.

He was an active member of the Newport Beach American Legion post, the

Newport Harbor Exchange Club and the Elks Club of Newport Harbor.

In the early 1990s, Morri was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which

eventually took his life.

He will be missed by his family and all of his many friends in the harbor

area.

Mr. Molho is survived by his wife, Vivian Molho of Newport Beach; sons

Allan Molho of Watsonville, Calif.; Randy Molho of Escondido, Calif.;

sisters Stella Weiswasser and Pearl Anderson, both of Pasadena; and his

grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Pacific View

Cemetery in Corona del Mar.
