Boys Water polo: Sailors outlast Laguna Hills

LAGUNA HILLS - Peter Belden scored five goals to lead visiting

Newport Harbor to an 18-10 Sea View League boys water polo victory over

Laguna Hills Wednesday.

Newport Harbor, ranked No. 2 in the CIF-Southern Section poll,

outscored the Hawks, 6-0, in the fourth quarter to blow open a close

contest.

Robert Weiner had four goals and Ryan Cook added three goals for the

Sailors.

Tim Birdsong made 12 saves in goal for the Sailors (14-1, 2-0), who

next play Friday at home against Laguna Beach at 3:15 p.m. and Saturday

at 3 p.m. against La Jolla’s The Bishops School, also at home.
