Soccer: Newport Beach Amebas blank Lightning, 3-0

NEWPORT BEACH - The Newport Beach Ameba Soccer Team defeated the

Costa Mesa White Lightning, 3-0, in Boys14 Intercity Area Soccer action

Saturday.

Brenden Zimmer opened the scoring early in the first half on a 28-yard

shot, which arched its way into the goal.

Sergio Luna scored off a pass play from Devon Andrade and Mike

Richardson.

Luna scored again in the third quarter off of a 50-yard pass from

Arthur Perez.

Strong defense was provided from Brendan Sowers, Max Petty, Ramez

Wissa and Taylor Conant.

Solid team play was turned in by Jose Ceja, while goalie Kaiona Dutro

had seven saves for the Ameba.
