Boys water polo: Mesa falls to Uni

NEWPORT BEACH - A big second quarter was the costly difference for

Costa Mesa High in Thursday’s 14-10 Pacific Coast League boys water polo

loss to University at Newport Harbor High.

Alex Sarris had four goals to lead the Mustangs (8-9, 1-1), who were

outscored, 5-1, in the second quarter and, 8-3, in the first half.

Chris Biron added three goals and Mike Vaillancourt had two goals for

the Mustangs.

Next up for Costa Mesa is a Thursday showdown at Northwood High at 3

p.m.
