On Campus
Newport Beach -- Six students at Ensign Intermediate talked with us at
lunchtime Wednesday to tell us their plans for the upcoming spooky
holiday.
Here’s what they had to say:
Ashley Lear, 13, eighth-grader, Costa Mesa:
“I will be going to my best friends’ house and then we will go trick or
treating. This year we might go to Lido Isle because they give you big
candy bars and money. My friend and I plan to be salt and pepper shakers.
My dog Mandy will be dressed as a Milk Bone dog biscuit.”
Alicia Ballard, 13, eighth-grader, Costa Mesa:
“My friend and I are going to go to a Halloween party at our church. They
will have traditional games there like bobbing for apples and a haunted
house. We will probably dress up as M&M;’s. The best part about Halloween
is being with friends. And the candy.”
Traci Sawyer, 13, seventh-grader, Newport Beach:
“My friends and I are going to make a haunted house in the laundry room
at our apartment complex. My friends and I are going to be angels. The
best part about Halloween is the candy.”
Brandon Hargraves, 13, eighth-grader, Costa Mesa:
“I am going to be Elvis for Halloween because it’s the only costume I
haven’t been yet. Maybe my friends and I will go to a few houses to get
some candy. Then we will probably go to a Halloween party.”
Michael Robinson, 12, seventh-grader, Newport Beach:
“I might dress up as Beetlejuice. I am going to go to Balboa Island to go
trick or treating because all of the rich people there give out the big
candy bars.”
Montana Flynn, 12, seventh-grader, Costa Mesa, and Kendall Hudson, 12,
seventh-grader, Newport Beach
“We are going to be butterflies in black miniskirts and go to a Halloween
party.”
