Buzzards blast Blastoids

Sam Robinson scored five goals Wednesday to lead the Buzzards to an

easy 11-1 Howe Division victory over the Blastoids at Coast 2 Coast

Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Robinson also dished out two assists in a potent Buzzards

offensive attack that also featured three goals by Christopher Torres,

two by Greg Earl, and one by Brian Elliott.

Buzzard goalie Jorden Zarders came up with 22 saves.

Patrick Lacy scored off a Scott Fifield assist for the Blastoids.

It was the second lopsided win of the week for the Buzzards, who

on Monday defeated the Raptors, 9-2.

In that match, both Robinson and Torres each scored three goals to

lead the way.

In other games:

RIPTIDE 5, TEAM USA 2

Adam O’Connor scored two goals and Riptide scored four goals in

the final period to pull away to the win. Ross Turchi, Stephen Powers,

and Lotey Kinney also scored, and goalie Casey Maines recorded 21 saves

for the winners.

Brent Holden and Joshua Laurel both scored for Team USA.

ROUGHNECKS 4, RENEGADE 1

Kevin Rannow, Taylor Griffen, Dan Gandasetiawan, and Drew Leahy

all scored for the Roughnecks, with Rannow, Griffen, and Troy Weis each

getting an assist.

Cameron Moore scored the lone Renegades goal.

SQUIRT CLUB DIVISION

PIPELINE 8, ELMOS 7

Pipeline outscored the Elmos, 4-3, in the final period to pull out

the victory.

Brad Malone scored twice in the final quarter and finished with a

match-high four goals, and teammate Matthew Steinbrick scored twice.

Macsun Frederick led the team with a pair of assists.

Derrick Burnett paced the Elmos with three goals, and single goals

went to Bryan Sakaguchi, Chad Romers, Kenny Gibo, and Jonathan Gibo.
