Francis Leroy Andreen came to Costa Mesa in 1966 to take a job as OCC’s

Dean of Counseling and Guidance. He held the position for the next 15

years, retiring in 1981.

When he wasn’t helping OCC students chart the course of their careers,

Andreen was helping the community find the right path for itself.

He spent four years as vice president of the Costa Mesa Senior Center’s

executive board and 20 years as vice president of the Mesa del Mar

Homeowners Assn. Andreen was also the head of the Orange County Men’s

Bowling Assn. He passed away in 1998.

* MILLENNIUM MOMENT celebrates the people who have made a major

contribution to the Newport-Mesa community during this century.
