Winterball: Tigers rally to tie Huntington Valley

COSTA MESA - The Costa Mesa American Little League Tigers needed a

three-run sixth inning to salvage a 5-5 tie with Huntington Valley in

Winterball action over the weekend.

RBI singles from Brett Sheridan, Cody Spoulos and Phillipp Weaber

brought in the tying runs over a Huntington Valley club that features

Matt McGwire, son of Major League Baseball slugger, Mark McGwire.

The Tigers’ offense was led by Matt Doran, R.J. Duernberger and

Tinnion, who each went 2 for 3. The threesome, along with Peterson

combined for 11 strikeouts and only four hits allowed on the mound for

the Tigers.
