Boys water polo: Mesa wins two
TUSTIN - Costa Mesa High boys’ water polo team started the
Servite-Esperanza Water Polo Tournament on the right foot with victories
over Tustin and Mater Dei at Tustin High.
The Mustangs knocked off the host Tillers, 14-7, before defeating the
Monarchs, 14-5.
In the win over Tustin, John Bolt and Mike Whittman each had four
goals, while Mike Valliancourt added three goals for the Mustangs.
Whittman had four more goals in the win over Mater Dei, while Alex
Sarris added three goals and Brian Dunn had two.
In goal for the Mustangs, Chris Dolloff had 12 saves in the two games
combined.
Costa Mesa will continue in this tournament this weekend after
continuing Pacific Coast League play against host Corona del Mar High
Thursday at 3 p.m.
