AYSO Region 120: Royals upend Falcons

COSTA MESA - Eddie Tomasek, Anthony Lucero and Ricky Condoya each

scored goals for the Royals in their 3-1 playoffs win Saturday in AYSO

Region 120 Under-10 boys action.

Benjamin Briseno, Jacob Hurd, Nicholas Arellanes, Austin Rice, Eric

Petersen, Morgan Brennan, Roland Wood and Christopher Quinlan were all

solid on defense and goalie Zach Arant held off a strong Falcons’ attack

to preserve the win.

In other Under-10 boys action:

Rockets 3, Cheetahs 1 - Jonathan Knauer scored two goals and Andrew

Roth added another for the Rockets.

Justin Crossin, Aaron King and Ben Nordstrom played a solid defensive

game for the Rockets.

In Under-10 girls action: Killer Mermaids 3, Firecrackers 2 - After two first-half goals from

Sarah Braunsdorf, Jordyn Simmons scored the game-winner for the Killer

Mermaids.

Ashley Delzingaro and Lucy Lozano played well in goal, while the

defense was anchored by Teresa Fox, Sara Martin, Amelia Larned, Ayla,

Medina, Carina Merida, Diana Manriquez, Ashleigh Mestas and Abby

Scheafer.

In Under-12 boys action:

Blizzard 3, Team USA 1 - Luis Andrade broke the scoreless tie with a

goal and Adrian Jimenez added two more goals for the Blizzard.

Team USA was led by midfielders Andrew West, William Briseno, and Cody

Waldron.

Team USA’s lone goal was put in by Edwin Moreno off an assist from

Christian Medina.

In Under-14 girls action: Blue Angels 1, Laker Girls 0 - Lindsay Reed scored the game-winning

goal in overtime to lead the Blue Angels.

In Under-8 action:

In the Pink Panthers matchup against the Cherry Blossoms, Amanda

Watson scored two goals off of solid passes from Brittany Grimmett,

Makenna Sanislo scored a quick goal and solid play was turned in by

Natalie Seckel, Avery Ingram, Kate Lohrstorfer, Annie Daw and Morgan

Pautsch ... In the boys’ Fireballs game against the Green Jets, solid

play was turned in by Jack King, Austin Metzger, Leo Bown and Danny

Borg-Sundstrom.
