Girls tennis: CdM moves on
CORONA DEL MAR - The singles play of Nadia Vaughan and Anne Yelsey
enabled Corona del Mar High girls’ tennis team to knock off Chino Hills
Ayala, 15-3, in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division I
playoffs.
Vaughan and Yelsey combined to win 36 out of 40 games played between
the two, while on the doubles side, Nicole Charney and Kristin Griffith,
cruised to a three-set sweep, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 for the Sea Kings (16-5).
With the win, CdM advances to the CIF quarterfinals Tuesday with a
site and opponent to be determined.

(CdM) lost, 3-6, won, 6-2, 6-2; Fuller-Minna (CdM) lost, 6-7, won, 6-3,
6-1.
